My 20 month old loves to help in the kitchen. In fact all our children love to help. We love having The Kitchen Helper in our kitchen to allow the children to participate, learn and be a part of everyday life. They have learned many valuable skills by being up at counter height with use over the years. It makes my life so much easier during meal prep times. I no longer have to cook with one hand or be worried when they are up on a chair or sitting on the counter. I can continue my work without worry.
This week, Ian and I made some delicious, healthy smoothies. He was really a big help. He was able to add the spinach and the mango, as well as put the top of the blade onto the mixer container. I will share a few photos and a video of this precious moment with you. Also, here’s the recipe in case you and your little one want to try these delicious smoothies. We make extra and then pour them in Popsicle molds to make awesome smoothie Popsicle. I absolutely love it because that is one of the ways I can get our oldest son to eat more greens! He loves these
Green Smoothie for Kids
a handful of baby spinach
frozen mango - 5-6 pieces
Orange Juice
Water (1/4 of the OJ)
Some honey or agave if you like
Blend it all together - I use a Magic Bullet and Voila! A healthy drink your kids will love! (Well 3 out of my 4 love it!) Enjoy!
