My 20 month old loves to help in the kitchen. In fact all our children love to help. We love having The Kitchen Helper in our kitchen to allow the children to participate, learn and be a part of everyday life. They have learned many valuable skills by being up at counter height with use over the years. It makes my life so much easier during meal prep times. I no longer have to cook with one hand or be worried when they are up on a chair or sitting on the counter. I can continue my work without worry.
This week, Ian and I made some delicious, healthy smoothies. He was really a big help. He was able to add the spinach and the mango, as well as put the top of the blade onto the mixer container. I will share a few photos and a video of this precious moment with you. Also, here’s the recipe in case you and your little one want to try these delicious smoothies. We make extra and then pour them in Popsicle molds to make awesome smoothie Popsicle. I absolutely love it because that is one of the ways I can get our oldest son to eat more greens! He loves these
Green Smoothie for Kids
a handful of baby spinach
frozen mango - 5-6 pieces
Orange Juice
Water (1/4 of the OJ)
Some honey or agave if you like
Blend it all together - I use a Magic Bullet and Voila! A healthy drink your kids will love! (Well 3 out of my 4 love it!) Enjoy!
In this video review we take a look at The Kitchen Helper which is a popular safety stool by Guidecraft. The video was taken at the International Toy Fair in Feb.
People really seem to be digging around for information on the differences between the most common safety stools on the market right now. Here is a quick video comparing The Learning Tower with the Kitchen Helper.
>компютри втора употребаKitchen Helper has been out of stock twice already this year due to it’s popularity. The first out of stock happened in January. The manufacturer recieved more in late January, and that batch sold out in one week! We have word from the manufacturer thata new shipment is on it’s way! Originally slated to arrive May 5th, it looks like it will be in earlier, and should be arriving April 20th. Best to snap one of these up before this batch is gone too!!
We just got a question on the weight limit or capacity on the Kitchen Helper.
While the manufacturer posts no specified weight limit, I did do some informal testing. I stood on it. I weigh 225 lbs. The platform flexed a little, but that was it, so I’m sure it can hold more. I hope everybody expects to put less than 225 lbs. on their Kitchen Helper.
I just spoke with one of the staff over at Guidecraft, and they said that they were unloading to container of Kitchen Helper’s today, so they will be shipping tomorrow.
We just got a question about the durability of the white board and chalkboard side panels on the new Kitchen Helper. While we only have a prototype at this point, we have a pretty good idea what they will look like in final production. The two boards are inlaid into the wood on either side of the Kitchen Helper, and appear to be made of plastic. They have no edges exposed, so there is no worry of getting them snagged and pulled off.
The side panels look like fun, and should add to the Kitchen Helper. However, we thought that maybe a magnate board would be fun too. Which combination of panels would YOU like?
We just got a great question about the folded width of the new Kitchen Helper. Folding is one of the greatest new features that the Kitchen Helper brings to the kitchen, and we completely overlooked giving out the dimensions!! Please understand that these are the dimensions for the prototype, and may vary from the final production model. However, I don’t expect that they will. The top folds to 3 1/2″, and the bottom’s final width is 7″. Please refer to the picture to the left for how those dimensions translate to the actual shape.
While we’re on the topic of how this will fit into a kitchen, and where, I’d like to mention that the “feet” fit neatly under the kick space on cabinets which are generally about 4″ high. When you push this up to the counter, it will fit snuggly against the counter top.
When the Kitchen Helper is folded, it does stand up fairly easily. It could be knoocked over, I suppose, but the one pictured to the left is still folded and standing on it’s own one day after this picture was taken, even with a constant traffic of dog/kids through our kitchen.
The Kitchen Helper shipping date has been moved back to September from August. As we get closer, it will firm up more. Also, I couldn’t resist adding a couple of pictures of the KH prototype in action! Here’s my 21 month old daughter making lasagna
The Kitchen Helper will now be shipping in early August! The timeline has been moved up from “sometime in September”. This is great news. Also, The Kitchen Helper has met all requirements for ASTM F963-03 labeling and ASTM F963-03 mechanical hazard requirements for “Standard consumer safety specification for toy safety.”
ASTM stand for American Society for Testing and Materials. More can be read at the Toy Industry Association website.
